Pacific Ocean Views: Hotel La Jolla

La Jolla, San Diego, CA, USA

My stay at Hotel La Jolla was a collaboration. All opinions are my own.

Paul and I recently celebrated our 3-year anniversary. We originally had plans to go to Hawaii like we do every year but some things came up and we had to cancel our anniversary trip. Hotel La Jolla came in the picture and we were able to celebrate with a little staycation. It wasn't Hawaii but we still got the tropical, beachy vibes to our trip.

The hotel overlooks the La Jolla coast and so the views were phenomenal. All of the rooms face the ocean and each room comes with a private balcony. We definitely enjoyed as much time as we could on the balcony and watched the most beautiful sunsets you can imagine. Not to mention the rooms are bigger than your typical hotel rooms and the shower had this cool feature where you could toggle shower curtain to go up and down. Ever dreamed of showering while watching the sunset? Hotel La Jolla allows you to do just that.

Located in La Jolla, you are surrounded by lots of activities, shops, restaurants and of course beaches. We did not go to the beach since the ocean tends to be pretty cold in the Fall and Winter months here but if you do visit in the Spring or Summer, there are several beaches close by that you can visit. My favorite is Windansea Beach.

One of my favorite things about Hotel La Jolla is their restaurant located on the 11th floor that has floor to ceiling windows facing the ocean. It's such a great romantic spot with beautiful views. Perfect for date nights or special occasions. I've actually been to the restaurant several times before since I love the ambiance and vibes but this was my first time actually staying at the Hotel. So it was very convenient to just take the elevator up to grab breakfast and dinner. They used to be open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, they changed their hours and are closed for lunch. However, they do serve brunch on the weekends. Their menu changes seasonally so you can come back during different times of the year and try something new on their menu. We got the salmon and rib eye for dinner and everything was so delicious!
The hotel does have a pool but we didn't use it during our visit because it was too cold. They serve food and drinks at the pool from Thursdays-Sundays. They also have bikes you can use to ride to the beach or around La Jolla. We also didn't get to use the bikes but will definitely test them out next time!

Hotel La Jolla was the perfect little staycation and we really enjoyed our stay. We'll definitely be back, especially at Cusp Dining & Drinks since we really like their food and drinks.
